Tiana grew up believing and loving fairy tales but does not think that good things or wishes come to be when you place your desire upon a star. Her father is very hardworking and has made sure that his daughter knows that hard work is the only way to go for success in life. She and her father have a dream to own a restaurant, and she wishes every day that this dream will soon come to be. The film is a classic illustration of gender manipulation and roles in society. It also portrays a good romantic story (Kurtti, 19). Her chances to achieve her plans in reality crumbles. She and the prince, still in the form of a frog try to find the sorcerer who can transform them back to humans.

Eventually, they are successful and are humans again. Over many years and since early the 19th century, women have fought hard for them to be equals to men. At times this struggle goes to the extent of death in trying to be seen as equals to men. Unfortunately, she too is turned into a frog. The rest of the story shows the journey of the two trying to find someone to transform them back to human. The film shows that Tiana's father works multiple jobs but does not explicitly tell what he does. However, his love for cooking is emphasized. A scene is shown with Tiana's father cooking while her mother is seated at the table working and sewing. Charlotte LaBouf, on the other hand, has already internalized what the society expected of a woman even at the age of six.
