Experimental Design: Induction of Apoptosis Aim of the experiment To induce and measure apoptosis in Jurkat Cells using Camptothecin as the positive control. To determine whether Curcumin induces apoptosis or not. Introduction Apoptosis refers to the normal and genetically programmed cell death. It a process that takes place during development of an embryo as well as in aging and tissue maintenance during pathological conditions (Tower 2015). Apoptosis describes a mechanism in which a cell takes part in its own destruction process. The apoptotic process is characterized by particular morphological features like internucleosomal DNA cleavage condensation of cell nucleus and cytoplasm blebbing of the plasma membrane loss of the plasma membrane attachment and asymmetry (Berghe et al. 2014). The loss of the plasma membrane attachment and asymmetry is among the earliest apoptotic features (Biosciences 2011). The phospholipid phosphatidylserine of the apoptotic cells translocate from the inner plasma membrane leaflet to report that as both statistics and plots was automatically generated. The use the BD Annexin V assay have demonstrated that camptothecin induces apoptosis in the Jurkat cells. References Biosciences B. D. (2011). So attached is the lab report rubric and the lab report guidelines. Please follow the rubric!! Label each section in the lab report: Title, intro, methods, results, discussion, & references This was an in class assignment which makes it a little more different. I have the calculations and anything else you need for this lab report. Please take your time to read over everything, I really need a good lab report with one or two sources (the handout can be used as one). I need to make sure you understand this assignment before picking me. If you ask me questions that are on the rubric or lab sheet I WILL NOT choose you because that makes me think you did not read it over. I will take my time to pick a good writer before choosing , so again take your time to read it. I will like this to be the only paper you will be working on because I need this to be your first and number one priority.
