School Psychology Program personal statement
Document Type:Personal Statement
Subject Area:Psychology
To achieve this objective, the psychologist is required to partner with the relevant stakeholders including teachers, parents, guardians, and school administrators. Together, they are able to create a safe, conducive, healthy, and competitive learning environment that promotes the learning process. Personally, I am a focused, goal-oriented, and committed person who is passionate about helping learners achieve their full potential. I am not only approachable, but also social which makes it possible for me to nurture productive social networks through which I impart my positive influence to the learners to inspire them to attain their level-best in academics, in their social circles, emotionally, and behaviorally. Combined, all these attributes play a critical role in creating holistic all-round learners who are of great significance to society.
Another aim of my research was to identify learning institutions which offer undergraduate courses in school psychology. At this point, I was already determined to pursue a career in the area. With the little knowledge I had managed to gather, I searched for and evaluated the programs offered in different institutions. The objective of this evaluation was to enable me to identify an institution with a comprehensive and well laid-out program that not only covered the essential components of the course but also provided an ideal learning environment and adequate hands-on experience to facilitate skill acquisition and development. I used an elimination method to narrow down my search for my preferred institution. I will strive to channel my energy towards the advancement of my skills and competence in my chosen career.
