There are various sources of energy and some of these sources are renewable sources while other sources are non-renewable sources. Renewable sources of energy are also called clean sources which never get depleted no matter for how long they are used and examples include solar energy from the sun, hydro-electric power from water and wind energy from wind and also geo-thermal power from earth (Johansson, 2016). The sun is the main source of the energy we use today as solar energy which creates electricity and also for heating purposes. Humans use solar panels to collect energy from the sun and plants also use energy form the sun to make food through photosynthesis. Wind is another clean source of energy that is gaining fame in our world today and this type of energy is harvested through wind mills that the wind is able to propel and they convert wind energy into electricity.

Natural gas is also found below the surface of the earth confined in rocks and this kind of energy is used for cooking, heating and lighting. Natural gas may exist in both gaseous and liquid form although liquid form occupies less space compared to gaseous form and it is a cheap source of energy. Coal is a fossil fuel and its energy source depends on the amount of carbon present and once mined coal is burned to produce energy used to produce electricity while the byproducts of coal such as cement is used to build stone houses and roads. Nuclear energy is another source of non-renewable energy but it is not part of fossil fuels. This kind of energy is harvested through control of nuclear fission in order to yield electricity that is used to run industries and perform other tasks that require huge amounts of electricity.
