For the change efforts to be successful, it depends mostly on the quality of cooperation between the change agent and those who make decisions in the firm. The paper will discuss the roles and traits of a change manager, the influence that the agent has on the change initiative and finally analyze the challenges faced by the agent and how to cope with the problems. According to studies by Lunenburg (2010), the change agents have three major roles, which are consulting, training, and researching. Discussing more on consulting, the agent receives data from outside the organization and from within the firm. Other traits are understanding and motivating; these characters will see the process to be active and fast. They should also be observant and analytical so that they are capable of solving major and minor problems that might affect the change process. The influence of the agent in the change initiative will make it to either fail or succeed. The solution to resistance is providing the employees with enough training and proper communication.
