The study applies various theories of development such as "Piaget's and Vygotsky's theory, and Erikson’s” to support and explain all involved stages based on my development stages. The paper defends its argument in the body paragraphs through the application of the named theories in an attempt to make credible and well-informed arguments about all my development stages up to now. The process of human development is a lifelong progression that begins before the moment of birth and extends until death. Thus, each moment or experience in life contributes to a personal evolution state among every living human. It is the physical changes that bring about the change in the development process whilst the cognitive abilities of a person advance before starting to decline in response to childhood growth and reduced in the functionality of the body system in old age.

This is the stage where my organs began developing including the spinal cord as well as the brain. The last stage involves the "fetal stage" that last from week 9 to week 40. This stage begins when the organism is approximately 9 months old. This is the stage where my sex-differentiated to that of a female and fingers, as well as toes, were fully developed and literally visible. My hearing abilities began developing at this stage and my internal organs were fully developed and around week 36 I was ready for birth (Robinson, Kimpotich, and Grey, 2018). At the age of two years, I had developed and reached the "sensorimotor stage" as described in Piaget's theory of development. This is the stage where an infant interacts with the world through sensations and movements.

This means that I began interacting with the world at this stage through basic actions like listening, looking, sucking, and grasping (Ojose, 2008). This is the stage where I learned that things still exist even when they cannot be seen through object permanence. Thus, at this stage as a toddler, the sensory experience helped me acquire knowledge through continues interaction with the environment and making personal discoveries about the world. This is because a child at this stage according to Piaget begin to process how other people will perceive a situation. According to Erikson, I was in an “industry vs. inferiority” stage where I was constantly comparing myself with other peers (Elkind, 2018). It was at this stage that I developed my sense of development and pride in social activities, school, and family life.

The last stage is the "formal operational stage" where an individual now begins to think abstractly and begin to process the hypothetical problem. This is because Vygotsky believes that an individual cannot develop fully, especially cognitive development without considering cultural as well as social aspects that shape the moral and perspective a person upon maturity. According to this theory, culture has a profound impact when it comes to impacting cognitive development. This theory rules out that of Piaget that suggest cognitive development occur in universal stages. According to Vygotsky, cognitive development is different among different cultures and once the environment is likely to determine the level of cognitive development (Pathan et al. Basically, my culture did contribute to the way I see things and my moral behaviors towards people as well.

This is because the more it introduces children to other sources of more knowledgeable information. Personally, I learned most of the knowledge from my parents and other siblings after me who had a more understanding of the world than I had. Vygotsky emphasizes more on the importance of social contributions towards the process of child development. This is because Vygotsky believes that a child is able to learn and comprehend most of the things they know through an interaction with a more skilled person. This reflects what I went through during my early development stages as I was straggled to understand the world through my caregivers and internalized that to manage my performance. pdx. edu/sites/www. pdx. edu. ceed/files/sscbt_EriksonsEightAgesofMan.
