Jazz music is art music since it implies advanced structural as well as theoretical consideration from Western culture (Griggs, Richard and Jackson 194). Jazz uses musical music instruments such as saxophone, trumpets, drums, guitars among others. Popular music is music with broad appeal, which is familiar to a large audience through the music industry. Academic music entails analyzing different material in harmony to develop and create new music. Therefore, jazz music plays a significant role within the American mainstream encompassed with entertaining and relieving the audience from stress and the feeling of relaxation becomes a necessity. Also, results might be artificial since the researcher has control over variables. My research participants will be selected based on the class, age as well as gender to determine the longevity of cancer patients.

Some of the ethical considerations for the research study includes; obtaining informed consent for participants and minimizing the risk of harm during the study. "The four key principles of ethical community-engaged research includes; embodying ethical actions, negotiating justice, respecting participants and generalizing beneficence. " During a research study, the researcher ought to protect anonymity as well as the confidentiality of the participant. The questionnaire also helps to obtain precise answers based on the research question provided. Therefore, I think observation and sampling will be the best methodology to use when attending to depressed people since they are the most suitable choice.
