The name of the museum traces its roots from a businessman known as William Breman who was also a humanitarian activist for the Jewish community that lived in Atlanta. The museum reflects the atrocities that were performed by the Nazis during the World War II and how the Jewish community suffered massive loss in a threat of being wiped off the phase of the world. The survivors of those atrocities performed during Holocaust present their voices through the museum. The survivors were those that lived in Atlanta. The exhibition of ‘Absence of Humanity: The Holocaust Years, 1933-1945 was made by a local architect and survivor of Holocause known as Ben Hisrch. Not only did the Jews lack food in the ghettos, they were overworked and expected to deliver more than they could.
