Knopf, 1958. Blesh in his book described the history of jazz music. In his book, he indicated that jazz was initially a black art which was mostly liked by the black people before everyone in America decided to accept the music. His book talks about how jazz music blended the whites and the blacks in a unique way although the music was not accepted by the majority of the whites. Blesh speaks about how Jazz music was seen as a way of breaking down economic and social barriers that existed in the society, and that was the main reason why people resisted the music in America. It explains what the reason behind the creation of Jazz was by harmonizing instruments like trumpets, Pianos, banjo, saxophones, trombones, and drums.
