To get a more significant market share retailers are increasingly employing the use of juicy return policies to realize their goal. For a long time retailers had treated return policies as an afterthought but not anymore. In today’s marketing environment it is a critical step. Embracing this new marketing strategy has not come without its challenges. Firstly the amount of returns that have been making their way back to retailers has increased monumentally over the last few years totaling a massive $270 billion in the year 2016 this is a significant loss to retailers (Reagan customer loyalty is the key player and all business strategy should be geared towards retaining clients and on that front a generous return policy is key.
