It is important that students acquire knowledge through critical thinking and creativity that is gained from proper research and practice in academic writing. Plagiarism reduces students to copying machines which then reduces the quality of their education (Graham-Matheson, & Starr, 2013). This is problematic because many individuals may lose trust in education by considering a failed means of gaining new knowledge. Plagiarism gives the impression that students are no more thinkers by themselves and thus cannot generate new knowledge now and in the future. Plagiarism is common among students who are rush through their academic writings. This is an important aspect of organizational psychology especially because individuals will behave differently based on the social norms influences, the organizations management structure and the role expectations (Youssef-Morgan, & Noon, 2017).
