Immigration is associated with the increase in population and at times results in cultural change. According to Zong & Batalova (2015), the United States is one of the leading countries with absolute numbers of immigrants globally. The country is noted to have had a significant number of immigrants who were estimated to be around 47 million up to the year 2015. The aforementioned statistics represents 19. 1% of the international immigrants globally and 14. In areas that require integration such as access to medical services, employment, social services and other important services legal status is a vital organ. To an extend legal status has the ability to affect up to later generations in some cases a respective parent’s undocumented status can affect a child’s development in the united states despite the child being born in the country.

The current immigration policy in the country is very complicated with a lot of confusion as to how it works (Hall & Greenman, 2015). Concerning the immigration and naturalization act (INA), an annual limit of 675000 permanent immigrants are to be allowed in the country together with other certain exceptions. INA allows a lawful permanent resident to live in the country permanently. However, not all undocumented immigrants enter the country illegally. Some may have entered the country as tourists and fail to leave the country. In other instances, some immigrants enter the country while fearing persecution from their countries. However, it is important to note that deporting the immigrants is not a wise decision. According to me, the immigrants can be beneficial to the country since at times some provide labor to the country.
