The tactical issues include the layout and construction of the plant, methods of project management, selection and replacement of equipment. Issues in operations include the scheduling and control of activities, inventory management, traffic, and materials handling, inventory management and policies on equipment maintenance. Operations management in cocoa-cola Company focuses on the production and distribution of services and products. The global nature of Coca-Cola's business demands that the system of the company has the highest processes and standards for consistency in quality across its whole supply chain. Coca-Cola runs one of the world's most pervasive system of distribution which provides over 400 beverages in approximately 200 countries globally. About 70% of the of its sales are generated from outside North America which accounts for 31% in the middle east, Eurasia and Europe and 24% for Asian countries. Latin America accounts for 10% while Africa accounts for 4% of the total profit of the company. The company's projects include carbonated beverages, sports drinks, juices and juice drinks and bottled waters (Hartogh, 2002). The company's risks are managed efficiently, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points are incorporated into the system standards, and problem-solving methods are defined. Being updated to current regulations and the conditions in the marketplace, Coca-Cola reassesses the relevancy of its guidelines and requirements in the supply chain and manufacturing sector.
