Some characteristics of a scapegoat are: he is compassionate and shows empathy, forgives, independent, resourceful, self-sacrificing, look for external view for control, and has low or no ability to recognize manipulation. In religion (Judaism), a scapegoat was a chosen goat that was sent to the desert as a ritual on the day of reparation, after all the sins and wrong doings of people were cast on his head. In literature, a scapegoat is used to show the nature of the groups taking the blame or them that are placing the blame. In the film, the teachers have a task of dealing with the difficult situation by looking for a way out or reporting it to the administration for more actions. There is a situation in class that leads to Marin calling some of his students "skanks.

Time had elapsed since the situation that involved Marin and the student. If it were not for the class representative who was meeting during the assessment meeting, then Souleymane disciplinary issue could not have been heard. The administration refuses to hear the aggrieved party plea of forgiving Souleymane. In a normal circumstance, one would expect the school administration to pardon Souleymane bearing in mind what expulsion would mean to his future. Souleymane is used as a scapegoat so that other children who have similar behaviors can learn from his situation. Different people have different characteristics, and all people cannot be the same. In real life, we have tough, pleasant, simple and complicated people and various ways are used in dealing with different people.
