Research conducted on employee response to organizational revealed that in most cases, members of an organization resist change (Dinh et al, 2014). The growth of some organization has stalled because employees were uncooperative and reluctant in adopting the desired change. Transactional leadership strategy saves organization cost and time because of its give and takes nature. According to Lechner and Gudmundson (2014), leaders who apply transactional leadership strategy reward the members of the organization who are willing and ready to adopt the change and encourage their colleagues to follow suit. Also, leaders punish bad practices that may include incitement to resist the proposed change. On the other hand, interactive leadership strategy though viewed by some organizational leaders as being time-consuming has been found to be beneficial in enabling change in organizations.

The strategic changes in Wal-Mart which have propelled to be the current biggest grocery chain store around the globe have been achieved through interactive leadership strategy. The employees feel they own the organization and are positive in accepting change because the leaders are ever ready and willing to take through the change personally. It is crucial to note that management strategies alone cannot realize the desired change in the organization.
