The method of literature review

Document 1

The systematic review is considered as the strongest type of literature review, especially when meta-analysis is used to combine and evaluate the findings of systematic reviews by using standardized statistical strategies to draw conclusions (Rozas & Klein, 2010; Cronin, et al. , 2008; Polit & Beck, 2006). The systematic review applies strict and well-defined strategies to comprehensively review the relevant literature in the field of the research subject, while narrative literature review does not follow strict systematic methods to select and synthesize the literature. However, a researcher who uses the narrative review has to give an overview of the research strategies used when searching for information as well as during the analysis of the same source of information including the explanation of the criteria used to include and exclude texts to provide an objective literature review with limited subjectivity and bias (Green, Johnson, & Adams, 2006).
