Interpersonal Communication Essay
According to Hayes (2012), effective interpersonal communication in the business setup creates a good customer relationship. Every element of the interpersonal communication needs to be functioning correctly in order to have the most efficient and productive communication possible. Any breakdowns in the interpersonal communication model will have a negative impact on the customer service experience. The most important element of the interpersonal communication model is the message and feedback. The message is an important part of the model because it is the information that is being relayed to the customer. According to communication experts, messages always answers three main questions that help businesses to sustain their clients. These questions are: why to engage with you (business)? What are the benefits of doing so? How to engage? (EDITIon, 2008).
Therefore, if a business communicates with its clients effectively and answers above questions, a good customer service environment is enhanced. Another important element of communication is Feedback since it can dictate if a customer will be pleased or not served well. Feedback dictates whether the customer will return to purchase, just based on how you respond to the customer. Feedbacks received from workers and clients can be used by organization management to make an informed decision regarding improving the working relationship. Besides, I consider feedback as among the important element of communication due to the fact that it works as a tool for continued learning. Business can rely on customer feedbacks to make some changes that may have a great impact on their performance.
