Name Professor Course Date Restorative Justice Restorative justice is a form of justice that personalizes the crime by bringing together the violator and the victim to come up with a solution that satisfies each party. Restorative justice does not only involve the violator and the victim but the community too. It works in a manner that there is active participation by the victim and the wrongdoer is given a chance to right his wrongs while reflecting on his actions and the consequences. Through restorative justice the wrongdoer is able to take responsibility under the eyes of the victim and of the community as a whole giving him a chance to avoid future offenses. There have been debates over prisons work better than the forgiveness method employed through restorative justice. Restorative justice is the way to go in finding an effective form of rehabilitation in today’s prison system. This form the citizens of the United Nations as a whole should push for and embrace restorative justice for a better and improved society. The government should invest more on research on restorative justice and on the spread and implementation of the system. After the implementation of restorative justice as an effective form of rehabilitation in today’s prison system we can then look for ways to redirected funds into the crucial areas such as Education. As a society we should strive to treat prisoners and ex-convicts as people who have made mistakes in life not as animals who must be put away completely. Works Cited Glazek Christopher.
