A POSSIBLE IMPERATIVE PLATFORM FOR VENTURE CAPITAL GROWTH TODAY by (Name) Course Name Professor (Tutor) University City Date Abstract Revolution of finance and the stringent processes of sourcing funds especially for the small and medium enterprise startups (SMES) has contributed to growth of a key financial platform crowdfunding an informal source of finances that parallels the known formal sources of funding for SMES. Crowdfunding has taken off since the late 2006 at the time of Sellaband but others will argue 2008 during the start of Kickstarter. Regardless of the literature on the subject matter being limited this paper will explore the possible effects of crowdfunding on conventional venture capital funding. It will further elaborate if crowdfunding assumes a supporting and or gap filling role in the venture capital industry. In addition this paper will delve into the analytical the variation in the aggregate venture capital is explained by the changes in the crowdfunding.
