They include gays, lesbians, transgender and bisexual individuals. The purpose of this paper is to clarify my perception of the issue of sex marriage and illustrate my stand whether I oppose or support the idea of the same-sex marriage among individuals in a society. The issue of same-sex marriage has attracted a strong attention and debate across the world. In making an argument on the issue, many aspects are analyzed among the populations in the society. People have different characteristics in the society. The idea of same-sex marriage in the modern society and more specifically in the U. S and other countries of Europe goes against the original definition of marriage. In the bible in Genesis stories of creation, God created man and woman and ordered them to go procreate and multiply.
The original meaning of the scripture was the union between a man and a woman but not between a man and a man or between a woman and a woman. Therefore, the idea of same-sex marriage is against the wish of God on his creation. In the same way, I am aware that marriage is meant for bearing children and not as a way of expressing the same sexual identity. Notably, gay marriage is attributed to confusion regarding the gender roles (INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMIES, n. d). Naturally, it is believed that marriage thrives well if spouses specialize in the gender roles. Men and women take different roles when in a marriage. To be socially responsible in the society, the law could as well consider their stand based on their other people's arguments.
