Reason for the Choice For a new CEO, the first important aspect in studying organizational behavior is understanding how the employees behave, think, work, and interact with others on a personal level. Although people work in groups at the workplace, their interaction in teams or company department in which is dependent on how they make decisions on a personal level. Besides having a better understanding of the employees, studying the workers’ psychology would enable the new CEO to group the employees in line with their capacity for reasoning and decision-making. It is also through psychology that the new CEO can select the employees to head various departments and lead the groups in which they are assigned to work. Taking Precedence Unlike the other schools of thought in studying the organizational behavior, psychology is the first area of study for a new CEO to gain much knowledge about the company’s workforce as well as better understanding of each employee.
