Critical Analysis of the story of an hour

Mrs. Mallard, who is the main character in the story suffers a lot from her weak heart that couldn’t tolerate the character of her husband and plans his death to gain freedom. Therefore, this piece of work is going conduct a critical analysis of the short story “The story of an hour” In this short story, there are various aspects that dominate the entire story ranging from self-identity death and freedom which are all intertwined by the author in order to bring about the thematic concern of the story. The author exemplifies, a complex scenario that is based on Mrs. Mallard`s emotional reaction following the great sad yet joyful message that she felt inside her heart following the news of her husband`s demise.

The strange signs that Louise shows during this trying moment makes the reader suspect that she had a hand in the death of the husband for it is ironical to celebrate death of a person she really loved.
