Gender communication is a type of communication that involves two parties the male and female. Through this type of communication the differences and the similarities shared in the genders during communication are explained. There are distinguishes made in the communication that perpetuate the information given or shared, for instance people might tend to say, “do it like a girl” or “ work on that as a boy would”. This shows the disparities in the information shared, there are emphasis in the communication that trigger the influence of gender. There are two classifications that effectively define and express communication, interpersonal and intrapersonal forms of communication. Expounding on the concepts given of communication it is viewed that the female gender has a more flexibility when it comes to the issues of communication.

Women have the ability to switch their communication styles depending on the environments they are in. Males on the other hand hold a different perspective in communication they are docile and consistent on the various situations they are faced with (Meghan, 2010). They are not influenced by the environment that surrounds them but rather they stay consistent and hold repetitive perceptions of the surroundings. Thus, it is important for men and women to hold an understanding of the other’s perceptions to uphold a relationship that is promoted by communication that is impactful to their interests. The logic that they have differs from that of women, the issues that they have can be a cause of frictions at the workplace and this manipulates their thoughts and hinders the expected productivity.

The communication theories that are adapted in the workplace are initiated by the need to establish a relationship that is stipulated in the guidelines and the rules set. Among the theories that define the kind of communication in a workplace is the critical theory (Johnstone, 2016). This philosophy holds a perspective that conflicts is natural in the work place; it is evident that people in the place of work tend to resist the authority figures in the environment, such as managers. The style of communication that is influenced in the theory serves to bridging the gaps formed by conflicts by enabling the solutions to the problem (Johnstone, 2016). LinkedIn.
