The groups bring people together from different backgrounds who exchange ideas, expertise and experience resulting in increased knowledge and know-how. Additionally, the groups pull resources together leading to economic development and prosperity by the members of the groups. The United States of America is comprised of individuals from different races across the globe who come together to build one united country. The citizenry of the country share different social up-bring beliefs as well as culture, and this gives them a sense of cultural diversity and identity. Different cultures, in most cases, aim at working together to create synergy and put efforts towards achieving a particular objective. This knowledge is used to learn the cultures of people across the nations. There is a need to understand the preferences and behaviour of people within a culture in order to have an insight into the cultural values.

The behaviour and preferences of people within a culture, including the minority, is critical in determining the coexistence of individuals in the communities. The interests of the minority should also be respected and perhaps addressed in order to ensure peace and an inclusive culture. In instances where the interests of the minority are ignored, they often tend to resist therefore, causing conflict within the institutions (Smith, 2004 pp. The rich become even richer while the poor remain in the vicious circle of poverty. This disparity creates the rise of different social classes within the culture hence causing conflict between the rich and the poor in the society (Petrakis, 2014 pp. Cross-cultural communication requires one to be aware of cultural differences of individuals across the divide.
