FairPlay, Revista de Filosofia, Ética y Derecho del Deporte, (10), 83-107. This journal seeks to help its readers understand the context behind Colin Kaepernick’s actions as an athlete. The journal takes on a professional approach, looking at the specifics of the athlete’s actions in comparison to the accepted code of conduct of football athletes, as well as athletes in general. The journal is an argument of whether Kaepernick was against the rules of athletic conduct. Apart from the athletic disobedience, the journal also discusses the roles of an athlete in representing his or her country, as well as being loyal to the country they represent. This journal is a review of Kaepernick’s actions inside and off the field, in his struggle to protest against black oppression.

It analyzes his actions, which include sitting and kneeling during the national anthem and even wearing hoodies to protest against police brutality against members of the black community. Not only does it analyze his physical actions of protest, but also protest messages and posts on his social media relating to black oppression, especially on his Instagram, where he had been posting such posts and messages months before he sat during the national anthem singing. This journal also reviews the implications that these actions have on the K-12 sports, and the impact that they have on the general world of sports. I will use this journal in the review of the different protest actions that were done by Kaepernick, and what he hoped to achieve by doing them.

It shows the real America with the problems faced by the black community every day in the hands of the police. The article sets one thinking whether America is really the free place people all over the world know about, and whether the police system and the government have corrupted this notion and turned America into a living hell for black people. I will use his journal to show how the police system has been corrupted into mistreating the black community, and how the black people are in dire need of a savior to rescue them from these problems they undergo daily. The journal will help in the visualizing of things as they are in America, as it shows the ugly side of things where blacks are mistreated in the supposedly free world.

I will also use the journal to show that to some extent, the actions of Kaepernick are justified and that it was the right thing to do, standing up for his countrymen in protest of their mistreatment. This was a move applauded by some and criticized by others, but despite the position of the people, it sure made him famous, and had an impact on the people. The members of the black community specifically applauded him for his bravery and compassion to support them and fight for them. They were extremely proud of him, and the police as well of the government definitely took note of it. It was surely a heroic act for Kaepernick, and an action that will be remembered all through history.
