Name Course Tutor Date MASCULINITY AS POTRAYED BY CLINT EASTWOOD IN HIS MOVIES Introduction Being famous for a hard body during his early days when he started out in the movie business Clint Eastwood has in the recent past reinvented his image to still reflect on that hardness since his age does not allow for it. Talking of a hard body this includes a body like that of Arnold Schwarzenegger that could not be laughably ignored. His path to masculinity led him to adapt into a persona that is involved with feminine materials. According to Eastwood’s movies masculinity is portrayed as strong capable aggressive and assertive- as compared to other male characters as well as female characters- all of the traditionally favored qualities of a male protagonist (Boyle p.99). Eastwood therefore tries to explore American masculinity of the meaning of an aging body for the males with the cultural football as they are known to be carried out by the strong.
