Name Instructor Course Date Indian Folk Theatre Introduction Since the 1960s novel interest in cultural and traditional expressions developed in India. Many Indians and foreigners alike sought to learn more about the Indian culture through folk theatre. Since then various theatre groups and institutions have emerged with a clear purpose of spreading awareness while educating and entertaining audiences with Indian folk performances. Though characterized by professionalism the Indian theatre has wide aspects of activism which borrows heavily from the Hollywood drama. However its focus on social work cannot be overemphasized because it plays an integral part in informing Indian practices across the globe.
