Retrieved from www.africanews.com This article discusses the agreed terms between Nigeria and South Africa which were meant to provide a long-lasting solution to the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other foreigners residing in South Africa. The agreement between the two governments was named ‘the early warning unit.' The agreement saw the South African government make a promise to the Nigerian delegation that the serious attacks would be put to an end and such attacks will never happen again. The Nigerian delegates on the other hand demanded more commitment from government agencies in South Africa such as Ministry of Foreign Affairs Police and Ministry of Home Affairs that are responsible for ensuring the security of their citizens. In their view the Nigerian delegates felt that these agencies had the capability of stopping minimizing violence against immigrants. The study examined a total of 1 472 friendship network of adolescents.
