Indeed, its creepy aesthetics and folkloric myths have in innumerable ways changed the horror genus. This paper will examine how Japanese horror films are different from other contemporary American horror movies as well as the rapport between the two countries in matters cinema. Hollywood’s sympathy and attraction for Japanese cinema is not a new phenomenon even though the new acceptance of j-horror by American audiences and filmmakers has acquired an extreme deal of critical and media attention.
