Name: Professor: Course: Date: Shared memory In relation to computer science; shared memory is a memory that may be concurrently retrieved by many programs with the primary intention of providing interaction or communication between them or evade unnecessary copies (Wompat 2001). Consequently shared memory is an efficient way of transition of raw facts and figures between the programs. A single application will generate a piece which in turn other procedures can have access to (Springer 1992). Shared memory strives at eliminating the need for using different methods or processes like input/output. Similarly about processors shared memory is part and parcel of random access memory commonly abbreviated as RAM and it can be accessed by all processors that are present in multiple processor systems (Williams Hoekstra 1995). This memory provides a platform for various programs to interact and transmit data without any complexity experienced during the other procedures (Williams Hoekstra 1995).
