Religion is a story in its own way such as the Hebrew Scriptures in the bible. There are usually two kinds of stories that are important for religious expressions, the first is autobiography and the second kind of story is the testimony. Human beings are story tellers and without stories we would not be humans thus stories play a very crucial role in human life. Stories such as parables and tales make us know that we are superior to animals. Religion can be viewed into ways that is folk religion and formal religion. it is very wrong to view myth as an weaker mode of thought which can be ignored when humans have entered the scientific age or the age of reason.

Primal religions do not rely on scientific tools such as experimentation and observation but they make use of rituals and myths to discern the world. Primal religions usually passed their cultures orally since they did not rely on written history. Primal religions are found in small tribal settings and they are usually tied to land. They believe that the entire world is alive with spirits a belief known as animism. Daoist priests carry out various rites for the people the lead. Although Daoist and Shamans priests frequently go through private ecstasies, they are mainly qualified ecstatic’s whose mysticism is as a result of religious activities by groups. Actions that laypeople see in non-mystical states are carried out by qualified ecstatics various states of consciousness.
