Such standard practices when followed by all healthcare providers, will reduce conflict among practitioners. There is a possible reduction of errors when healthcare practitioners follow standard procedures (Benjamin, 2009). It will will promote uniformity and cooperation among healthcare workers. New nurses will find it easy to adapt to organizations that abide by certain standards that appear to be uniform. Mistakes are common and all human error. Such laws are likely to punish negligent healthcare professionals and respective facilities. Changing employment policies on punitive measures in relation to healthcare requires hospital managers and employers to provide protective laws that ensure healthcare professionals and patients are equally protected (Dussault & Dubois, 2003). However, such laws should be strict to promote responsibility among healthcare professionals so that errors and acts of negligence should be punishable.
