The critics of the constitutional development also played a role in shaping the constitution of the country as some of their ideas were included in the constitutional development. The differences between Federalists and Anti-Federalists The Main Personalities in Each Side The Federalist and the Anti-Federalists were composed of some common people in the society who wanted to have their views and ideas in the making of the constitution. Some common people in the two functions were noted for their strong stands on the constitutional development of the United States Constitution. The federalist were composed of the educated and wealthy men in the society who also had significant following and respect, unlike the Anti-federalist — the most notable names among the Federalists composed of people like Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, James Madison, and John Jay (Main, 2004).

They were the most known person who were advocating for the federal system of government. The federalist wanted a republican form of government. The Federalist was for the idea that the people should be allowed to elect their leaders through a certified democratic way. The federalists were for the Republican form of government which had a strong power at the top to control all the activities of the state. The federalists were better described as the nationalist as they supported a government that had a strong national government. They also favored a constitutional government while on the other hand, the anti-federalist were for the continuous use if an article of confederations as the guide to the American people as a rule of law that binds the nation (Simers, 2004).
