Effective crisis management should begin by identifying the problem so as to formulate effective solutions for it. In this case the hospital is facing a crisis of organizational misdeeds. This type of crisis occurs when management implements policies that they know can adversely affect the business or its customers for convenience purposes (Juneja, 2019). Crises of organizational misdeeds are further divided into three: crisis of deception, management misconduct, and skewed management values (Juneja, 2019). This particular case falls under the crisis of skewed management values, which entails pursuing short term economic gains or profits over social responsibility and the commitment that an organization has to offer the best services to its customers and employees. It involves acknowledging the crisis and the effects it has on the organization, communication and information management, reputation management and other evolving developments (O’Connor, 2018).
