Although all the process is complicated, the most complicated and long process is adolescence. Through all the process individuals should be able to make a decision and solve their problems. The processes will enable individual to act maturely in making a decision and solving problems in the society. “In 500 days of summer”, we are introduced to a boy who meets a girl and falls in love with her although the girl does not truly love him. The movie is all about Tom and Summer and how their relationship is progressing immediately after they have met each other. The two eventually separate from their love relationship and Tom is left with depression. He realized what Summer kept on holding back that keeps her from being in the relationship.

Adolescence describes the years between the age of 13 years to 19 years. It is the age of transition from childhood to adulthood. It is normally characterized by reproductive maturity, physical growth and psychological development (Rice& Dolgin, 2005). However, the only woman whom Tom ever lover dumps him for another man. Cognitive development involves the construction of thought processes, which involves decision making and problem-solving through all the process of life from childhood to adulthood. Summer decides to love Tom after Tom has approached her and later decided to leave Tom and marry another man.
