It presents how personalization helps to improve the search quality, not only on a personal and individual level, but also on business efficiency level. It also reveals how personalization made retrieving relevant information easy and how it helps companies benefit when marketing their products. This paper also shows the trade offs to the many benefits of personalization such as scarifying privacy and narrowing the view of our world by creating a “filter bubble”. Introduction The evolvement of personalized search has been facilitated by the continued advancement in technology and its spread across the globe. This has led to improved efficiencies in the business sector (Dirk 4). Business owners are main users of forms of technology and so, the personalized search engine has been able to attract customers within the vicinity of the business or those planning to travel to the area in which the business operates.
