The Era of Slavery in the United States of America The history of the United States of America is not complete without the mention of the era of slavery. There was a need therefore to meet the huge demand for the labour force in the country. This was also the reason that promoted the need to import slaves from Africa, the Caribbean and also Asia. However, Africa was seen as the best ideal market for slaves. Africans were mainly chosen for their skin colour. These large tracks of land led to the production of enormous crops and also a lot of other agricultural products. The slaves also work towards the creation and the development of free labor in the European farms, and this was in the large plantation farming’s (Becket 75). The plantations of wheat, sisal, sugarcane and cotton: these were the initial farms that provide the natural resources that were required for the development of the industries in the country.

As more and more agricultural products were being produced, it requires for industries to develop and convert these things into the finished products. Therefore, various industries develop which mainly processed agricultural products. However, these same banks also propelled the economic development of the country forward, and hence they helped in the realization of the country as the world superpower (Inikori 158). Currently, the United States of America has one of the most developed banking systems in the world, and this is drawn from hundreds of years ago during the slavery induction in the country. The development in the banking system in the country that develops directly due to the influence of slavery also influences the development of the insurance system in the country.

Insurance firms developed to give security and as act as collateral in case of any damage to the agriculture products in the farms and also to ensure industries and other common machinery (Becket 99). The slaves were also used in the security operations. The development of the transport sector in the United States is also largely attributed to slavery. Slaves were the major people who were used in the development of various methods of transport in the country. Slave labour was the most ideal for the development of the transport sector in the country. The slaves were used in the road construction and were used as the labourers who worked in these sides.
