40 thus it’s indicative of acidosis. The paCO2 is also more than 40 indicative of primary respiratory acidosis and this is supported by HCO3 being less than 24. Determination of acute or chronic is done by dividing H+ and paCO2 and in this case, it's 1. 19 indicative of acute since it's more than 0. 8 and in this case it is an acute compensated. pH 7. 39,PaCO2 32,HCO3 19,Na 142,Cl 105 The pH is less than 7. 4 indicating acidosis. PaCO2 is less than 40 and also HCO3 is less than 24 indicating primary metabolic acidosis. The expected PaCO2 is 38. 40 indicative of acidosis. Both paCO2 and HCO3 are decreased indicative of primary metabolic acidosis. Anion gap is 15 and this confirms the acidemia. Can be corrected by reducing Cl intake pH7. 21, PaCO2 38, HCO3 15, Na 142, Cl 102 pH is less than 7.
