Identification and respect of human rights the most important aspects of human civilization. From the start of human intelligence there has always been a set of guidelines that could not be infringed upon (Charles Malik ,1999). These guidelines were unspoken and other were spoken, they included the rights to personal effects among others. The can be said to be some of the first human rights. They offered a through distinction of people and animals, but they also segmented the different classes of people. It was the first successful instance of creating a global document that equalized all of man. But it was not the first in time in human history rights have been recorded. Charles Malik, a states man wrote that even the ancient Babylonians also had a code that stipulated the rights their people enjoyed.

Later empires also followed suit and the united states declaration of impendence is based off the napoleon’s code where he wrote about the unalienable rights of man. Thus, enabled people everywhere hope of their rights being respected and acknowledged. It states all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Thus, setting the stage for all the other rights and showing how they make all of man equal. It also states some of the same rights in the American constitution which are right to life, freedom, liberty, right to own property. Thus, the draft is a blue print to the knowledge of human rights. The human rights are many and touch on all aspects of life and all classes of man are equalized. Therefore, the universalism of human rights is plausible, and they can be used through irrespective of the setting of economic condition (Lynn, 2001). Thus, in our modern times travel to other worlds is getting closer and these rights should go where human beings are located. Universal human rights may have a different mandate, which can be customized to suit the conditions. Various political uses and challenges to universalism Universalism of human rights will come with some advantages and challenges following suit. Therefore, this section will focus on the challenges of universalism and the various political uses of human rights. Thus, it is apparent that the universal human rights declaration should be revised and customized accordingly. So, it can fit into all cultures and societies around the world for smooth ease in implementation and enforcement. Therefore, the 1948 declaration was the first draft that was considered universal and was greatly accepted and implemented by many nations (Nagengast & Turner, 1997). It means that more people around enjoyed rights that were previously unknown to them. Therefore, it brings the understanding of its necessity and clear establishment of justice. Now that the world is relatively smaller due to inventions like the internet and media broadcasting houses.

Thus, making information distribution and communication instant. The same concept is projected to the view of Universal human rights and other moral values (Lynn, 2001). What may appear normal to our society may be a taboo in other societies and a good example is gay rights. Homosexuality is accepted in the western nations and it is considered a social norm. But, in many other nations it is a taboo often punishable by law and it is not accepted at all. Therefore, the question can be posed as is there universal moral values and how inclusive can they be in relation to the universal declaration of human rights. These challenges may come from the political spectrum or the people themselves. The human rights and their complexity over many different nations is a good initiative even if it struggles to respect culturalism and traditions.

Therefore, these rights can not only be embraced by the nations but be scrutinized not to be bias to the people and positive culture. Positive culture being the cultures that do not infringe on the group or individual’s rights. They are rights which need more attention than any other. The reaction of British foreign secretary Lord Balfour about the clause shows how it certainly was not true at the begging of the 20th Century that human rights were yet an accepted constituent of western legal and political thought (Lynn, 2001).

The notion that all men were created equal was an interesting one, he found, be he did not believe it. You could scarcely say that a man in central Africa was equal to a European. Which was an accept table ideology of the time. On the one hand, it cannot be denied that the ideology of human rights owes much to western thinkers such as Jean Jacques Rousseau, John Stuart Mills and others. In a conflict zone, there rights are extended to people beyond the fights. The cover journalist and aid workers who give medical or other help for both sides of the war. A good example is the cultures that infringe on the rights of women (Nagengast & Turner, 1997). From the cultures that prohibit women movement, work, relationships and some even allow men to beat their wives. Therefore, the best way to respect culture is to make sure there is no ethnogenocide. Meaning the should respect the indigenous people’s traditions and culture which brings anthropological harmony to the universal human rights.

These laws are there to offer all men a level ground and equal opportunity. Even though implementation has been a challenging, some laws have been used by many nations. The united nations draft was created in a good environment as it is when the document is non-political and are based on the moral nature of man (Ignatieff ,2001). It marked the beginning of an era where all humans have secured rights and the whole world is covered. Therefore, human rights are a collection of laws and policies that mandate what every human is equal and what they can or cannot do from a moral stand point. Therefore, they are there and can be altered to fit into the national cultures of any nation.
