The little bighorn battle
Thousands of Cheyenne and Sioux's worriers amassed by Sitting Bull stood against the United States Army under the leadership of Colonel Custer in the Little Bighorn Valley (Sagan, 26). Sitting Bull was the Sioux chief, and he led the Native American warriors during the battle. Colonel Custer was a lieutenant and leader of the United States army during the campaign. However, the American Indians defeat the most exquisite unit in the United States forces was shocking to the United States Government. The United States forces later sent in more troops after the defeat to push back the Cheyenne and Sioux warriors to a defeat off of their lands and onto reservations.
