The DSM-5 is published by the American Psychiatric Association and guides healthcare professionals in the diagnosis of mental health conditions. The fifth edition of the manual-DSM-5-was introduced in 2013 May. This new edition was introduced as it helped with more precise diagnosis, identifying symptoms which warrant treatment and the assessment of the levels of severity. Work cited Glass, Richard M. A sufficient cause refers to the cause which guarantees that an individual will develop a disorder. This cause is however not necessary. A contributory cause is a cause which increases the chances of developing the disorder.
