How Active Server Pages work

With ASP, it is possible to create HTML web pages, include script commands, and Component Object Model (COM) elements for interactive web pages, in an easy to develop and modify. The default scripting language used for scripting ASP is VBScript, and the files have a. asp extension. They get executed whenever a user requests the page from a Web server. The Web server will then process requests, parsing it, and executing any script commands before sending it to the Web pages on the client browser. On the client browser, the file looks just like an ordinary HTML web page. Similarly, if a user views the source code of the ASP on the browser, the output will be a normal HTML page.
