Individual interview [Name of Writer] [Name of Institution] Individual interview The lifespan perspective of human development recognizes that a person becomes who they are as a result of biological factors and life experiences. The later years of development involve continuous change and adaptation to environmental factors and as a result the developmental process diversifies and the outcomes unique to each person (Jennings 2010). In the quest to discover the differences in the lifespan perspective I set out to interview an older adult on his perspective of life experiences and the factors that influenced his developmental outcome. Sami who is a retired engineer from the Middle East is 60 years of age. I address questions related to social and cultural roles that have developed through his lifespan. I include questions revolving around feelings that might have contributed towards generatively and the resulting factors and contributions to family changing his diet and exercise. He firmly emphasizes these two factors influence his longevity. Lifestyle choices play an important role in increasing longevity at any age especially after the age of 50. Research discloses that the aging process is dynamic and multidimensional and interacts with other forces such as environmental ethnic and psychological all of which can contribute to how long we live (Jennings 2010). After my interview with Sami I firmly come to the conclusion his tempered resolve to life’s purpose embraces amended new patterns of personal involvement with his family and grandchildren. His new found commitment to a healthy lifestyle has brought on a sense of urgency as he experiences age with reverence. Reference: Cavanaugh J.C. & Blanchard-Fields F. (2011).
