Professional Development of Nursing Professionals

This report was aimed at reforming and the congruence of the activities carried out by nurses. The Institute of Medicine is an organization that runs independently and does not conform to the government’s legislations. One of the largest philanthropists in the United States history, The Robert Wood Foundation combined efforts with the medicine institute to come forth with the reforms affecting the nursing community in the states. Through the report nurses would have an entitlement in the reforms affecting them. There impacts that affect the nursing industry set forth by the report; this paper looks at these impacts (Institute of medicine, p 85-93). The report also indicates that accreditation and certification of nurses should be improved to meet the standards set for job qualification in the health care sector (Institute of medicine, p 85-93).
