The airline industry has its mission of linking Canada and the rest of the world through its vision of developing loyalty via passion, as well as innovation to achieve the goal of becoming the leader in the airline industry. Air Canada faces stiff competition from other airlines in the region such as Porter and WestJet airline. Therefore, to remain competitive, the airline has formed alliances and connection with other airlines, which has put the airline in a better position regionally and in the global market.

The deployment of new Embraer aircrafts has enabled opening of new markets and increased flight frequencies where flights operated once per day. The company also focused on opening flight routes to China, as well as the larger Asia market by introducing Boeing 777 aircraft to be utilized in Toronto services. In addition, five more flights are expected to be introduced per week operating Toronto-Beijing route, as well as four flights per week to operate Toronto-Shanghai. Under the environmental plan, technology innovation has helped Air Canada to remain competitive in the global market.
