Corn, also called maize, eventually became a staple food in the North and South America. From Mexico, corn slowly spread north into the Southwestern side of the United States and then later to Peru. The Indian people carried corn with them as they moved to North America, 1000 years ago. And slowly spread to the other parts of the world. Unknown to many, corn seed is actually a vegetable. Their kernels have both white and yellow colors which make them different from the others. White and yellow kernel sweet corn is not grown for commercial purposes. It is in most cases found at the local markets. A fresh sweet corn comes with a husk attached to it. It is important that one leaves the husk on the corn until a few minutes before cooking so as to retain its sweet flavor and quality.

Cook the sweet corn as according to preference. Cut off ½ inch from the two ends of the corn cob using a knife. The other option is to slice the corn kernels off the cob if the plan is to serve the corn without the cob. The sweet corn has a variety of recipes; Boiling method (Recipe Tips) Dip the corn in a pot and put cold water Add sugar (a tablespoon) to add the corn’s sweetness and maintain tenderness Place the pot over heat (high). Wait until water boils rapidly, then know it is cooked. Rotate and repeat the process until it is clean. Scrape down the cob's sides to extract the left pulp and milk from the cob. Put the butter in a sauce pan and melt.
