Drug addiction is a disease

An example if an individual gets addicted to marijuana, they tend to be 100% dependable on it and their body cannot function normally unless they are high. They tend to ensure they are high for their own satisfaction. For example, drinking alcohol causes liver disease, cocaine causes severe heart problems and smoking causes lung disease. According to the drugs, society and criminal justice department, they tend to conquer that alcohol abuse is a syndrome caused by frequent drinking of alcohol although he or she is fully aware of the consequences attached to it that is a physical problem just like other common diseases, the addictiveness is hard to resist ("Contents").

The drugs mainly cause brain damage as stated by the national institute on drug abuse. The people affected tend to increase with each passing day. In conjunction with the above statement, it is okay to conclude that addiction causes severe brain disease. The drugs also affect and destroy the brain and also cause it to function improperly and think in a different way. The consumption and use of the drugs become the first priority of the user to the extent of his family, friends, exercise, work and love life (Mader). The association for addiction professionals agrees to the fact that drug addiction is a symbol which is important since the language used tend to reflect on the knowledge of medicine. The medical knowledge highlights the fact that abuse of drug is natural phenomenon.
