People may perceive body cameras as invading privacy rights but this have more advantages than disadvantages. It improves transparency and relationships between police and citizens. Besides, the study attempt to conduct thorough analysis using relevant academic sources to help understand the significant role of using body cameras in the policy system. Mass media has been recently portraying increasing police brutality in many states. The shooting case Michael Brown that took place in Fergusson, Missouri in 2014 led to public uproar and demonstrations (Bud, 2016). As such, there is a need for body-worn cameras to reduce police misconduct by posing the risk of legitimacy and ultimately improving accountability. Today, technology has become highly advanced and the society is heading towards the 21st century where everything is going to be innovative. Technology has already changed the way police officers do business. We do not want to put blame on others or help someone responsible for the mistake that he/she did not the committee.

As a result, this has led to scrutiny in the policing system; hence the need for body cameras in order to enhance accountability. Police professionals become effective when there they build public trust through transparency. The use of body camera can help create and nurture the notion of rebuilding trust through enhanced transparency in the legal process. There are many organizations in the state such as the Americans Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) that are both non-profit and non-partisan with a mission of defending the rights of all individuals (Young, & Ready, 2015). S Constitution and its legislative body guarantee citizen rights by claiming that “body worn cameras are an effective tool for finding the solution to the problem and increasing accountability through transparency to lessen the effects”, as well as change police behavior (Arnett, 2015).
