Nurses have an opportunity to influence the nature of the final bill in four main parts such as during the introduction of the bill, committee action, hearings, floor action, and conference action. Two Ways That Nurses Can Influence The Lawmaking Process. In Your Opinion, Would One Way Be Preferable Over the Other First, a nurse can ask a member of Congress to sponsor a bill to the house. Here the nurse is required to explore various dynamics regarding the issue he or she wants to be addressed by the bill. Using the existing materials, the nurse can easily convince and advice a member of Congress on how to tackle the matter beforehand. Using their experiences and information collected from diverse cultures, nurses are able to advise the legislators on policies that are going to create positive health results.
