In 500-750 words, summarize your interview and share your impressions of your peer's responses. Peer Interview Peer interview and discussions have a significant role in the healthcare sector in ensuring quality healthcare. In healthcare, professionals from various specialties often meet as a group to discuss the plan of care and progress of the patients to provide appropriate healthcare. The health professionals include physicians, nurses, pharmacist, therapist, technologist and technicians providing care in different areas of patient’s ailment (PNTC, 2011).

A peer interview was conducted on a Respiratory therapist where his role is to provide care for patients with lung diseases and illness. Providing safe and quality care along with being a patient advocate is one of the responsibilities of the peer. Other responsibilities include treating patients with respiratory distress with medications, non-invasive and invasive ventilator support and exercise to ease with breathing difficulties, education on how to manage the disease symptoms and its process, adhere with the medication, proper diet and exercise. The Respiratory therapists are in constant contact with the nurses and the doctors in the management of the disease process, thus optimizing the health of the patient. Professionalism influences the peers to work making them conduct themselves as professionals.

They should do more than expected, and they are not bound to time, they manage their time to accommodate all the activities they are assigned to. They are not to abuse their privilege but to utilize it for the benefit of all healthcare seekers. Healthcare leaders should be the stewards of the patient and the team of employees who work under their guidance in the organization. In most of the organization, stewardship is not observed or practiced at all, which is seen taking a look keenly in our health care organizations. Most of the times where health seekers lack quality care in the health facilities because the leaders in healthcare do not portray stewardship.

A steward should be a patient advocate, supporter, educator, and an activist but in most cases, they seldom advocate for the patients. The leader should be able to deal with problems like a professional, but on rare occasions, they do so. Part 2: Leadership Leadership interview is a significant activity in the promotion and provision of quality health care. Discussions are held among the leaders composing the leadership team in the healthcare set up to set policy and future goals. An interview was conducted on the respiratory therapist to provide information about patients suffering from lung diseases. The information got from the interview would help in analyzing the objectives achieved and the area for improvement. What is your role as a healthcare team member? The leader is the person with the authority to perform some duties like organizing people in an organization, managing and allocating duties.

The leader should, therefore, mind their deeds and the steps they take so as not to lose the respect he has. The leaders should set an example to the rest of the team members, should be hardworking, their work should be organized and attractive, this will impress a good picture to the rest of the team so that they all follow resulting to stewardship (Greene, 2005). The leader should deal with problems like a professional. The leader should be in a position to confront all types of issues arising in an organization and work through that problem to cub it. They should be able to develop strategies on conflict solving amongst themselves and with other organizations. The leader should work with a kind heart; they should share knowledge with other members and should keenly listen to the rest of the team members.

The power should be proportional to the level of the work one is allocated, and the leader should ensure that none of the members is bullied or discriminated by other leaders. Both the peer and the leader have got roles that impact positively in the stewardship of healthcare. They are advocates of the patients; they are educators providing excellent support to the patients (Herman, 2016). Leaders and peers are both role models to other people in the healthcare setup. C.
